Four By Four Driveability
Voted as one of the most in-control MPV of its kind, the new look Freelander is a thoroughbred four wheel drive. Popularised when Land Rovers taking on the terrain in the country were also adopted as the urbanite vehicle of choice, Freelander 2 makes good for both situations with a punchy new engine now also available in diesel for a turbocharged performance in handling, comfort and extra fuel efficiency. The complete refit of new mechanisms offer a reliable performance thanks to the new factory fittings.

Land Rover has gone to great extents to fine-tune the cockpit and passenger environment for a distinctly refreshing drive experience. For the load carriers, Freelanders have always held the accolade as the workhorse for the bigger jobs. The new diesel model boasts 400Nm of torque, more than enough for even the trickiest tow loads.
Inside, the storage is plentiful. Even with rear passengers on board, there's 755 litres of storage capacity free behind them - and with the seats folded down, that storage more than doubles, leaving you with almost 60 cubic feet free for all sorts of storage.

Despite the huge overhaul in the blueprints for the Freelander 2 technology, the bodywork retains all the cosmetic yet commanding characteristics found on the mark one model, with distinct improvements coming in the form of bold chiselled lines contrasting with sweeping curvatures, finished with panels with complementary shades and exterior matte trim. Freelander 2 also features the latest in lighting design; Bi-xenon lamps provide a cool blue-white glow and on-board technology built in to determine the best angle of projection.

While Freelander may be taking on one of the most striking designs outside, once you step inside it's clear you're in one of the most ultra-modern interiors made for the road, with almost a metre of legroom in both front and rear seats and a variety of in-car audio and entertainment systems available.
